Fish Lizards! Stenopterygius is one of the most common “original material” ichthyosaurs we see in museum displays and is the one known with a baby sliding out of the cloaca at death. Skin coloration suggests countershading. It lived in the Jurassic, ~180 Ma, and exceeded 12’. They remind me of dolphins (hydrodynamic body) and sharks (fins). This one has been bitten on the face.
