Don’t skip this step when sewing gathers! 😯 Gathering is created by machine-sewing rows of long, loose stitches along the edge of the fabric, which you then pull on to smoosh up (technical term) the fabric 🪡 Sew the gather stitches in a contrast colour so you can see them easily, with a long stitch so they will move easily when pulled. The part people sometimes forget is to lower the thread tension dial on your machine. This makes the stitches nice and loose, so they will gather up the fabric
