Severe thunderstorms capable of producing tornadoes, damaging winds and hail are expected across parts of Ohio on Saturday, March 7.

There is not much time to recover for some communities across the Central US as another multiday severe storm threat will commence this upcoming week. More storms could bring large hail, gusty winds and even tornadoes.

Whitmer's office questioned whether the lack of a tornado watch alert could be attributed to funding cutbacks at the National Weather Service.

THREE RIVERS, MI - A spring-like storm turned violent quickly Friday afternoon, spawning at least two tornado touchdowns that damaged buildings, ripped apart part of a Menards store, and sent at least a few people to the hospital.

That weather system — the worst of its kind in many decades for Middle Tennessee — snapped millions of tree limbs and toppled thousands more trees. The damage pattern created was random, which will add an extra layer of confusion for scientists when they head to the field to assess possible tornado damage after a severe thunderstorm.

The pair, 47 and 13, were found in a vehicle on Highway 60, Oklahoma officials said.

The twister that ripped the roof off a Menards store and collapsed one of its walls was determined to be an EF-2.
